How Do You Earn MC Markets Points? Trading Points, Referral Rewards, and the Decay Mechanism
The rules fit on a sticky note: trade to earn points, refer others for a bonus, and over-farm in a single day and your efficiency drops.
1. There Are Only Two Ways to Earn Points
MC Markets' points system rewards only real economic activity: trading yourself, or referring others to trade. There's no daily check-in, no mini-games, no miscellaneous points-for-the-sake-of-points tasks — this is by design, so that points reflect real contribution.
2. Trading Points = Fees × 100
That's the whole formula. Fees are denominated in USDC: pay 1 USDC in fees and get 100 points, pay 10.5 USDC and get 1,050 points. Points for futures trades are recorded on opening and totaled daily. Note that it's based on the fees you actually pay, not on notional volume — for the same volume, an instrument with a lower fee rate generates fewer points.
3. Referral Points = 10% of the Other Person's Points
For every 100 points a user you invited earns, you get an extra 10 — newly issued by the system, not deducted from them. It only counts first-level users you directly invited, with no multi-tier cut. The referral points from one active trader beat ten accounts that register and then sit idle — quality matters far more than quantity.
4. The Decay Mechanism: The Most Misunderstood Rule
First, clear up the misunderstanding: what decay discounts is “today's earning efficiency on the portion above the threshold,” not “the points balance you already earned yesterday.” Points already credited to you never shrink.
Specifically: once the points earned in a single day exceed a certain threshold, the excess is counted at a decreasing ratio. This has two purposes — preventing farmers from generating astronomical points in one day and diluting everyone's share, and protecting the relative standing of small and mid-sized traders. What this means for you in practice: an evenly distributed trading rhythm has higher long-term points efficiency than a single-day burst. That happens to align with healthy trading habits too.
5. Anti-Cheating
Wash trading, self-referral, batches of sock-puppet accounts (Sybil attacks), coordinated volume farming — these patterns are detected by the system, with consequences including points deductions, disqualification from rewards, and account restrictions. For users who trade normally, this mechanism is completely unnoticeable; it exists only to ensure your points aren't diluted by farmers.
6. Parameters Will Evolve
The scoring rules and decay parameters may be adjusted as the system is upgraded, subject to the official announcements on the website or the system's real-time settlement.
FAQ
Q: After a rule change, will the points I earned before lose value?
A: No. Points already credited are unaffected; changes only affect earning afterward.
Q: What are points for?
A: They determine your position on the leaderboard and your airdrop allocation share, and they also affect vault-related benefits. See “How Are the Leaderboard and Airdrop Divided.”
Risk Warning
Points rules are subject to the latest announcements on the official website. Do not over-trade to earn points — trading itself carries significant risk.
